A NEW VISION FROM STERLING
Sterling Yachts, Japan's best-known luxury big boat builder, is back in business after a decade-long hiatus during which the world's NO. 2 economy underwent a spectacular downturn. At the 2002 Monaco and Fort Lauderdale Boat Shows the announcement was made by Sterling Yachts' amiable Chairman and CEO Sam Amao that he was joining forces with Ft. Lauderdale based Hargrave Yachts to begin marketing an exciting new line of Sterling models and Hargrave models from 135' -280' in length.

Sam Amao, the driving force behind Sterling, is teaming up with Senior VP and Sterling Yachts' stylist Takeshi Yuge to come up with unique and innovative Sterling designs that will recapture the magic that propelled Sterling to the top a generation ago. Mr. Yuge is initially creating two new Sterling models at 135' and 165' to help inaugurate Sterling Yachts' re-emergence to the market.

Marketing the new venture
Michael F. Joyce, President of Hargrave Custom Yachts in Fort Lauderdale, announced at the 2002 Monaco Yacht Show that Hargrave would begin building composite megayachts at the Sterling Yachts facility. Under the terms of the agreement with Sterling, the Hargrave organization will build a series of Hargrave models from the 130'-245' range.

Hargrave will also arrange for the full distribution of the entire Sterling line of yachts in the United States, through their brokerage affiliate Colonial Yacht Sales, also located in Fort Lauderdale. In addition to marketing and distributing the Sterling Yachts, the Hargrave team will work with leading brokers around the world in assisting their clients, and also provide construction management for all of its US owners, including full-time onsite project management.

Industry support is a key to the success of any world market yacht builder and several major yacht sales organizations around the world have recently agreed to work with re-establishing the new Sterling yacht building program. During the recent Miami Boat Show the Sterling management team met with the top executives from the Allied Richard Bertram organization here in South Florida. This $200,000,000 a year international sales organization is a world leader in the sales of yachts over 100' which is handled through their exclusive Platinum Division.
